We had to draw 3 vignettes and include one large item and a person and use our watercolor.

Layout Layout Layout

The assignment was to find a layout and use it for inspiration to create my own 2 page layout. We were also supposed to incorporate our first week into it. I loved this layout because it is so interesting and real. I like how the circles and what they contain are the main part of the layout and that the background also shows object giving the illusion the the circles are on the desk. I like the gradual downward motion of the circles, and how some of them over lap. The title block that is plain with one simple word. The font features the main word larger then the description that follows. The font on the left page in the upper left covers part of the circle giving the font a sense of dominance. The phrase written is the most important part because it describes my first week perfectly.

This was our first sketchbook assignment for the semester. We were to gather objects of importance to us and lay them out on a two page spread while keeping "layout" in mind. I feel my layout lacked on my second page, but was good on the first because my 3 items and half of another fit together well, like puzzle pieces.
